Motors Corner is pleased to present this magnificent 1966 Austin-Healey 3000 MKIII BJ8 with overdrive The Austin Healey 3000 Mk3, also known as the BJ8, is a classic British roadster produced between 1963 and 1967. Equipped with a 2. 9-litre in-line 6-cylinder engine, it produced around 150 bhp, offering solid performance for its time, with a top speed of over 190 km/ h. The Mk3 boasted greater comfort than previous versions, with a more refined interior, sloping windows and a wooden dashboard. Its combination of elegant styling, power and handling makes it one of the most popular British sports cars with collectors today. The BJ8 we are offering benefited from a complete refurbishment in 2009, and has the original Driver's Handbook, as well as period advertising and its Heritage certificate. It is fitted with Overdrive, SU HD8 carburettors and a stainless steel exhaust system. Mechanical condition: The mechanical assembly of this Austin-Healey was meticulously refurbished in 2009 by a Healey specialist, and has been regularly maintained for the past 15 years.
The engine starts from a standing start, thanks to a modernised ignition system, offering the performance expected of this magnificent 3-litre in-line 6. Everything is in perfect condition, with no leaking joints. The transmission is in perfect condition and the 4-speed gearbox with overdrive works perfectly.
Electric power steering was fitted in 2023 to improve driving comfort. Exterior condition: The bodywork of this Austin-Healey is in excellent condition, with the typical two-tone ice blue / ivory white paintwork showing very well. All the car's alignments are perfect. The spoked wheels and tyres are in very good condition. The doors and bonnets work very well. There is no corrosion on the bodywork. The chrome on the bumpers, radiator grille, rear-view mirrors, windscreen surround, headlight surrounds and door handles is flawless and not pitted.
Condition of the interior: The blue leather upholstery is in mint condition. The door trim, tunnel and dashboard have leather upholstery in the same colour, all in remarkable condition. The carpet is in perfect condition, as is the blue canvas soft top.
