The latest ROLLS from HJ MULLINER! Top of the range for the crowned heads! History There is an interesting story behind the coachbuilders HJ MULLINER and PARK WARD , both acquired by Rolls-Royce; Park Ward shortly before the Second World War and HJ MULLINER in the late 1950s. The two were eventually merged into one company, HJ MULLINER, PARK WARD in 1961, and eventually became known as MULLINER PARK WARD. A team of 750 workers built special bodies in a factory in Hythe Road, London. A high level of quality could only be assured by a high-level workforce, which is inevitably a major cost factor. The Hythe Road plant closed in 1991. Bodies for the Rolls-Royce Corniche III and Bentley Continental convertibles were sent over the next few years from the MPW factory near Acton direct to Crewe where all the finishing work was carried out. There were no further Rolls-Royce Phantom VIs after the very last one was delivered in 1992. MULLINER PARK WARD, as the coachbuilding division of Rolls-Royce, continues to keep pace with current market conditions.
