Model History: In October 1952, at Earls Court, Donald Healey presented his latest prototype, powered by an Austin A90 4-cylinder engine. The car won over BMC, who then decided to produce it in series. The Austin Healey 100 was officially launched in May 1953, and Donald Healey named it "100" to emphasise its ability to reach 100 mph (160 km/ h). The Austin Healey 100 BN1 was powered by a 2, 660cc 4-cylinder engine developing 90bhp, with a 3-speed gearbox. In its test of the BN1 model in 1953, the British magazine The Motor recorded impressive performance figures: a top speed of 171 km/ h, a 0 to 100 km/ h time of 11. 2 seconds, and fuel consumption of 12. 6 L/ 100 km. Only produced between 1952 and 1955, the Austin Healey 100/ 4 BN1 was thus able to take part in major motor races and rallies, such as the Tour Auto and the Mille Miglia. Body: The bodywork was in excellent condition, with a perfectly aligned chassis and no trace of corrosion. The doors are precision-fitted, and the perforated aluminium bonnet blends in perfectly with the bodywork. Upholstery: The seats, as well as the door panels and armrest, are fully restored. The carpets are spotless, and we've given the boot a bespoke finish. Engine: The engine has been rebuilt with a 'Le Mans' kit including carburettors, camshaft and sports cylinder head. The mechanics are currently in the running-in phase. Gearbox: The original 3-speed gearbox has been completely overhauled, with smooth, precise gear changes. Running gear: The rear axle is stable and handles very well. The chassis behaves perfectly. There is no play or noise. The suspension is perfect. The stainless steel spoked wheels are brand new. Brakes: Fitted with front disc brakes for optimum braking. Options: It has an M-type perforated bonnet and a leather strap. Price: €100, 000.
