For sale is my beautiful Jaguar XJR (X350). I have owned her for 8 years and have enjoyed every mile travelled. I bought her from the previous owners widow who had only owned the car for a year before he sadly passed away. There are 6 previous owners recorded on the V5 which is present and in my name.
I have made sure that the car has wanted for nothing during my ownership with annual services carried out regardless of mileage travelled, and repairs carried out when necessary. I am a retired aircraft engineer so am lucky enough to be able to undertake most tasks myself, but more specialist work has been undertaken by a trusted garage and my local Jaguar specialist. A quick tot up shows I have spent nearly £15K keeping her up to scratch.
I have kept a spreadsheet detailing all work undertaken which includes all the big ticket items which nearly all X350’s will succumb to including the roof lining replacement, gearbox oil and filter change, plug change and (the big one!) the valley coolant pipe. Just google the last one to see how much that costs to do!
Other work includes front hub rebuild, discs and pads, aux heater pump, front earthing points repaired, fuel tank straps, suspension items replaced (including front air shocks), air con components replaced, supercharger belt and aux belt etc, etc. I can supply the spreadsheet to anyone buying the car as part of the history.
The car sits on a set of matching Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres with loads of tread left as you can see in the pictures. The car received a four wheel alignment at the same time as the tyres were fitted.
Another major item I had undertaken was a full paint correction and ceramic coating in 2021 and I return to the same place every year for a top-up and to have any stone chips or blemishes dealt with. They have also cleaned and treated the leather and refurbished the steering wheel which was showing signs of wear. As a result of this the paintwork is like glass and really pings in the sunlight. The best bit is that it never needs polishing, just wash correctly and dry with large microfibres towels and she comes up gleaming.
The rear passenger window does not operate from the drivers switch but works fine from the actual passenger door switch.
The MOT was passed in February with no advisories and the tester said it was the cleanest MOT that day which isn’t bad for a 22 year old car. In my opinion the car looks fantastic and has been used twice on friends wedding duties. She pulls like a train with no unwelcome noises and doesn’t use coolant or oil. She really is a car in which you can travel Europe.
I have tried to price the car midway between the lowest and the somewhat optimistic high prices some seem to be asking. There are cheaper cars out there but do check that the big ticket items have been done as these can easily add up to eye watering sums of money.
The only reason I am selling is that I have an urge to own an XK while I am nimble enough to get in and out of one with a degree of dignity. Also the Household Management has implemented a ‘one in, one out’ policy which I am bound by! If she doesn’t sell then that’s fine, I would be happy to keep her for another 8 years.
