Description
For sale is my extremely rare 1965 Matchless G15 CSR in very original condition. There were only ever 600 of these models made, they were the first production cafe racer and most of them were exported to America.
It is beautiful, complete and very very original. I’ve replaced bearings and oil seals and rebuilt many parts but have kept the bike away from the polisher as I much prefer the look of a bike that shows it provenance.
Powered by the 750cc Norton Atlas engine, it is a quick and dependable classic.
Original aluminium mudguards. Beautiful original clocks.
I’ve had it for 9 years. Spent thousands on it but never really ridden it as I find it easier to jump on my BMW. For the last four years it has been in storage at my mum’s house with all fluids drained and I now feel that it is time to sell it.
Original fuel tank, oil tank and battery cover with a beautiful patina. Original transfers and scratches. Rebuilt wheels with stainless spokes. Rebuilt magneto. Immaculate clocks. Rebuilt seat. New brakes, clutch. All bearings replaced. All oil seals replaced. New valves fitted. New wiring loom. The list is endless.
Powder coated frame and ancillaries. I bought this bike nine years ago as an American reimport. It’s now got a V5 in my name and is all legal for uk roads.
Loads of work done.
In the nine years that I’ve owned this I’ve never seen another one for sale so it’s really difficult to value. There are a few G15 CS out there but never the CSR variant.
So I’m asking £12, 995 but feel that the market should really dictate the price so message me with any serious offer and I’ll consider it.
