Description
The bike was found in a container having been there for approximately 40 years. When the engine was stripped it was found to have been fitted with an unused crank, rods, cylinders, pistons and the head appears to be unused also, although some porting work has been carried out. The camshafts are out and out race cams, but surprisingly the engine is remarkably docile. From what I have seen I think the previous owner either planned to race it, or have a very hot road bike. The engine is still being run in, I have listed the mileage as 500 although it is still only slightly above 400 miles, but I may continue using it. The tank , the 4 gallon version, is painted in the 1960 colour scheme of dark blue , obviously it has new tyres. There is a small scrape on the front mudguard caused when I was moving the bike in the garage. The engine is fitted with the correct competition magneto and I purchased matching speedo and rev counter at some horrendous cost. The electrics have been upgraded to 12v (the controller is hidden between the oil tank and battery box, but can be accessed by removing the seat)I bought it as a partner to my Dominator 99, plus it is an iconic motorcycle and has attracted lots of attention. As a classic it is well known as a good looking and reliable bike.
