Description
A very sound Austin Seven RN saloon rescued as a lockdown project by an experienced A7 owner. It is believed the car was last on the road in 1965 when it appeared in a Cambridge scrapyard , was liberated and in the intervening years awaited sorting.
The car had been retrimmed when I got it though I put in the headlining. The engine has been rebuilt with an exchange crack detected crank, new radiator with correct core, hardy spicer propshaft conversion and unused 24T2 adjustable jet carb fitted. All other parts serviced as needed.
Semi girling front axle is obviously not original but it does stop!
Body is very sound with original main floors though wings must have been replaced at sometime with very good new replacements. Body was stripped to bare metal, etch primed and is coach painted.
Fitted flashing indicators and LED bulbs where possible. This is not a matched number concours winning car but starts, goes, steers and stops very well and an ideal starter in the world of the baby Austin. V5C in my name.
Space need for another project.
