Alfa Spider Series 2 (Kamm Tail)
I’ve owned this lovely Alfa for 11 years. Manufactured in 1977 and lived the first 20 years of its life in Hollywood, California, before being imported into the UK in 1997. Big History File. I had some re-commissioning work done in 2020 in anticipation of a European trip (which never materialised) and regular oil/ filter changes etc. The Odometer is now showing 22, 165 (having cycled round once, i. e. + 99, 999 miles) against 19, 432 in the year of my purchase; 2733 miles in 11 years or 250 miles per year driven – sacrilege! I did a round trip of about 500 miles to North Yorkshire last year without it missing a beat. Unfortunately, use of a sub-standard car cover when stored outside for a short while last Christmas caused some micro-blistering of the paintwork. The car is just back from a bare-metal respray looking fabulous once again in Rosso Italia paintwork, and returned to the warmth and dry of my garage. Oh, it’s left-hand-drive by the way, in case those things matter to you, or if you need one for your pad in the south of France!
