Description
Quite possibly the best T595 available.
Triumph in the late 90’s had to come up with something pretty special to get their name back into mainstream motorcycling and make a dent in the sports bike market, they were up against some serious competition. A twin spar aluminium frame, single sided swing arm and punchy 955cc triple with a soundtrack that could excite even a Greenpeace member were just some of the ingredients for this success. The ‘no half measures’ approach meant build quality and design were also way above what would be produced in later years and likely unrepeatable due to cost restraints today.
On the road while not being as ‘full on’ as the likes of the R1 of the time, it makes them a much more useable bike today that can be enjoyed without ballistic speeds. The combination of torque, handling and noise never fails to bring a smile to your face.
This time warp example was supplied by Metropolis, the Triumph dealer for central London in 1998, still wearing its original number plate. Genuine 5800 miles with only two previous owners from new, it has been dry stored as part of a private collection for the vast majority of its life. Having worked in a motorcycle dealership in the early 2000’s I would describe condition to be comparable to that of a very well kept 5 year old bike. It is original and un-restored throughout, the paintwork still bright with no fading whatsoever and not even a single stone chip on the front end. With the side fairings removed, the engine cases, radiator, oil cooler and fittings are all in remarkable condition and further proof of low mileage and careful storage.
It has just had a thorough recommission and extensive service, replacing all fluids and filters, the front forks have just been stripped and serviced using genuine Triumph fork seals and oil, finally a brand new pair of Pirelli tyres have been fitted, it rides superbly and is ready to go. Freshly mot'd for a year with no advisories, a thorough shake down/ road test has been carried out to confirm it performs exactly as it would have done back in 98.
Supplied with both a standard exhaust silencer, a factory Triumph sports exhaust and pillion seat, 2 keys present. HPI, history check clear, has never been damaged and I’d confidently say never been dropped either.
A true retro British bruiser that’s as good to look at as it is to ride, with prices on the rise as good examples have become very thin on the ground it’s safe to say this superb T595 is a shrewd investment for the future.
