Description
1969 MG Midget, 1275 engine block with Cooper S Crank, high compression 10. 1 pistons and uprated cam, duplex chain, all new bearings, 1275cc cooper S head on twin SU carbs cc, Rebuilt circa 1, 000 miles ago by race mechanic. Clutch and flywheel as new. Wire wheels with almost new tyres, Differential refurbished by MGOC, New Rear hub bearings and Seals, New Brake Shoes and Cylinders, Maniflow exhaust with 4 branch manifold, Original Seats refurbished, good condition hood. The rear spring mountings have been strengthened, otherwise the body and chassis are sound but in need of some tlc. I purchased the car at a local auction with the intention of turning it into a Hillclimb Car to compete in the road legal class. The car had been stored in a barn for some time before I bought it at the auction and had been made roadworthy by the previous owner. The hood is in pretty good condition with no leaks and an almost clear rear window. The seats still have the original covers and with the new foam are reasonably comfortable for a midget. The mechanical rebuild was carried out around 1, 000 miles ago and the car performs very well with a lot less noise than it made with the original exhaust. I have been using it on the road and apart from the fact that the golf clubs need to go on the passenger seat it is a lot of fun to drive.
