1979 MGB GT
MOT to Nov 25th 2025
Although the car is MOT and road tax exempt it has passed inspections and been given a certificate which should give the new owner some confidence to purchase the vehicle.
The car spent only eight years on the road before being driven into a workshop and having two new wings fitted. There it remained for another 31 years untill I bought it and had it transported to my garage in 2018 when the work on the car began and continued through the COVID era.
The previous owner began to prepare it for a respray by taking out interior and the glass and front and rear bumpers but, sadly, he passed away before he could finish the car. When new, the car received a very liberal coating of wax protection on all the floors, chassis and other vulnerable areas which has protected it to this day. I believe the car is still on its original panels, chassis members, sills etc. No replacement or work required of any of these areas is necessary.
As the Polyurethane bumpers were already off I decided to give it a race retro look but it has never been raced. This may not be to the taste of everyone so I kept all the parts needed to return it to the original specification which can easily be achieved.
I maintained the originality of the interior by re-foaming the seats and fitting new carpeting, the steering wheel is also original.
The runs and drives fine with the engine pulling strongly with oil pressure at 50+ psi and the temperature is stable. The gears change sweetly and have working overdrive on 3rd and 4th.

This is a very sound MG which can be used as it is or easily returned to its original look or converted to your own requirements.* Strong solid shell and panels/ doors etc
