Description
Owned for the last 13 years, I bought it as a rolling restoration. The 02 was in great condition already and over 6 years I have done a fair amount to it. It was originally an automatic so the first job was converting it to a manual. I then took out the original carburettor and added twin 40 Webers. I also fitted a 123 Tune electronic ignition with a pre programmed Ti curve. Any rust on the body was cut out and replaced before the Alpina lip arches were added and the respray was done. There's so much to list but I have the full blog on the 02Forum for anyone to research what's been done. This includes the said respray, the retrimmed seats, Lucas spot/ fog lights (with covers), Nardi steering wheel and very rare J. A. Pierce Magnesium alloys. The "shorty" rear bumper was fabricated from the original and just for a little patina, it was then left untouched.
It's recently had brand new front calipers and a Simons exhaust that sounds amazing.
The car is 52 years old and there will always be bits to do and tinker with. I've treated the car with a lot of respect and it's been garaged since I've had it.
More pictures available on request.
I have the original bill of sale, tons of receipts and lots of stare parts that can go with the car.
It's time to move it on as I'm getting on and fancy a new project before it's too late!I wanted a sporty look without going for the usual Turbo arches and typical wheels. I was introduced to the Alpina lip arches sold by Jaymic so I took them on. Its been lowered on Jaymic springs and Bilstein dampers, The wheels were stumbled upon by chance and came off a Vauxhall Firenza racing car. The rims are in perfect condition with almost new Hankook tires. The mudflaps are extremely rare, as to is the Zender rubber spoiler.
The Weber carbs are batch matched original with original Weber filters.
The new old stock seat material was sourced from France for the seats to be retrimmed.
The car has never let me down.
