When I bought this car from the salvage company the only accident damage was a dent on the near side rear quarter. As the car needed a full paintwork restoration this did not bother me.

The body shop I used came highly recommended to me. All the glass was removed, front wings removed, sunroof and rear deck lid removed. As the metal on these old 964's is so thick, the dent on the rear quarter was panel beaten out. I have all of these pictures available, any small areas of corrosion that the paint shop came across was dealt with properly, by cutting this out or shot blasting and then lead loading to reinstate. All of this was carried out when I first got the car 10 years ago and is still in an excellent rust free condition now. So in other words it was done properly.

It was repainted to a very high standard, any rubber seals that were perished or shorter than they should be were replaced for new.

With this car being a LHD from Germany the main shell and sills of the car were all in excellent order unlike a UK car of the same age. This was confirmed to me by Jonny Holland at Unit 11 in February this year when the engine was removed.

The timing covers were removed, valve clearances checked and were found to be very good, thus Jonny confirmed that a rebuild was not required and indeed it has already had a rebuild earlier in its life, I had a full service carried out, I also wanted to solve some oil leak issues which 964's are renowned for Jonny did this, he also replaced some tinware for me and the acoustic panel fitted above the engine.

The wheels have all just been refurbished so are like new for the next owner.

The car has Bridgestone Potenza tyres which all have approx 6mm of tread

I have been in no rush to do this car as obviously the prices have slowly been increasing over the years (probably the Singer effect).

This car has a massive history file in an A4 binder along with the original service book, manual and 2 keys

I consider this car a good usable classic for someone. Maybe it will even end up going back to Germany or the USA perhaps.

Cat D (just a dent to the rear quarter with pre repair images to confirm the dent)This car has a full and comprehensive service history file, I have the original Porsche service book which has been stamped up along with a 4" pile of service invoices for work carried out on the car, this will be provided to the new owner. I have just had the engine removed to rectify some oil leak issues and I also wanted to have the engine checked by a renowned specialist, having done extensive research I chose Jonny Holland at Unit 11 in Warrington Cheshire UK. Jonny removed the engine for me, he carried out a major service for me, he removed the cam covers and confirmed that the valve clearances we all good and that the engine was in excellent health thus a top end engine rebuild was not required. He also said in his professional view that this car has already had a top end rebuild at some point in the past, so would be a waste of money to do another now. I also had him replace a number of tinware items that could only be changed when then engine was out.
