Description

For sale is a 1963 Ford Anglia 105E Deluxe. It has the optional two tone paint and heater blower under the bonnet. It starts and runs but is currently not running well enough to drive on the road.

The car is very original and has never been restored. It would make an excellent base for a restoration project. The photos speak for themselves, she polishes up very well, but what is perhaps not apparent are the fibreglass front wings. These would have been fitted at the very latest the mid 90s but I expect this work was done long before that. The only signs of rust are the front of the sills where they join the wings and the corners of the boot lid. Both front sills need doing but are not beyond patching up to make good. The boot lid is a very minor repair.

Unfortunately there is no paper work with the car except for the original registration document showing the details of the first owner. There is a selection of owner's manuals and workshop manuals along with the receipts detailing the recent recommissioning (see below).

Annie the Anglia came into my possession following the death of its previous owner, my mother-in-law, Ros. Shortly before this, the car had broken down and was being kept garaged waiting for me to tend to it. I eventually took ownership of the car and trailered it home, my job being to get it going again and sell it.

Ros was the second owner of the car, she purchased it in 1997 with 70k miles on the clock. She proceeded to cover a mere 4 thousand miles in 28 years. This equates to two trips to the shops every month with a winter break. The car has always been kept in the dry during this ownership.

I thought I had discovered an electrical fault in the distributor so I replaced the entire distributor with a new unit fitted with electronic ignition. The car then ran well for 10 miles but unfortunately the original issue has returned. Now a job for the next owner. The old distributor comes with the car. I have also replaced the plugs and leads for good measure. Other work that has been carried out: Engine, gearbox and diff oil with engine oil filter. Valve clearances plus rocker cover gasket. Carb ultrasonic clean and rebuild. New ignition switch, the old one is provided with the key as the key fits the door. New fan belt. Brakes flushed, bled and adjusted. Clutch flushed, bled and adjusted.

Despite my work, she remains a very original car in "as found" condition. There is plenty of work to be done but this is for the new owner to enjoy. During my short ownership and few test drives she draws a huge amount of attention. I am yet to stop without being approached with complements and stories.

The family has decided that selling her is the right thing to do but she will be sorely missed.
