Here we have my Mk1 Cortina Consul 4 door pre Airflow for sale. It is a South African import and the body shell has no rust or rot throughout the vehicle. Underneath the car is also painted. I have replaced every balljoint and bush under the car, added disc brakes to the front. New front springs, inserts and top mounts to the suspension. I replaced the original 1200 engine with a refurbed 1500 pre crossflow engine gearbox and prop shaft. Electronic ignition is also fitted. DVLA have been informed of the engine change and is on the V5 which I have in my name. I also replaced the rear differential from a 4. 1 ratio to a 3. 9. It has a new clutch, slave cylinder and hose. Brakes has new brake lines and disc callipers have been refurbished with new seals. The larger brake master cylinder has also been fitted. Wheels have been re aligned professionally since all steering linkages replaced. New parcel shelf fitted and the original fan removed and replaced with a refurbed fan heater which is now plumbed in and working. Motorola radio has bluetooth fitted so connects to your phone and plays through vintage speakers. Front seat backs were repaired and new foam added. Being honest the paint work could be better but as you can see from the photos it is bright and shiny and always gets good comments when I've attended shows with her. She is sporting chrome Rostyles with beauty rings. These have scratches and a couple of dents to the rings but haven't got round to finding replacements. Front quarter bumpers are brand new. ( The original and some spare parts with workshop manuals will be included with the sale) I have done lots of other stuff to the vehicle since buying in 2022 so have forgotten a lot. You will be hard pushed to find another original body shell in this condition. When Ive remembered I have taken photos of the restoration. Two workshop manuals to be included. Recently my dream car came up at the right price and Ive decided to buy so there is a genuine reason fro sale. Cant fit both in the garage. The vehicle originally came from Johannesburg SA and as an export model it has the strengthening struts from the bulk head to the suspension mounts not found on UK Mk1's. At the moment she is a jump in and drive.
