The time has come to reluctantly sell this much-loved and reliable 88” Series 1 Landrover after over 20 years of ownership and regular (gentle) recreational use. It is a standard model which has been well-maintained and thoughtfully upgraded during its life.
The panels and bodywork are straight and in very good condition, it is structurally sound and mechanically very good. It comes with documented service and maintenance history and benefits from much recent work, including fully refurbished chassis, new braking system, exhaust, fuel tank, rear springs, battery, alternator, coil, reconditioned steering box, and recent new hood and seats from Exmoor Trim together with many other minor works.
The engine is a 2495cc petrol unit from a Landrover 90; the carburettor and ignition system have been overhauled within the last 1000 miles.
Whilst it is not a requirement, the vehicle has an MOT until March 2026.
A hard-top for this vehicle, which requires some cosmetic attention, is also available if required. We bought this Landrover for family camping trips and similar, and it has brought us much pleasure over the years. The family has now grown up and we find our new campervan more comfortable for camping trips these days! It's still the most fun vehicle to drive - especially with the top down - but limited time and space mean that it's time to let someone with more of both enjoy that fun.
