Description
Owned by the current vendor for the last 20 years, this Laser Red Audi RS2 has been used as a daily driver before the section to undertake a fully documented restoration between September 2023 and July 2024 which featured work to the engine, body and interior using spare parts from other RS2s.
The engine was replaced with one of the owner’s meticulously overhauled ADU spare engines, with the intake and exhaust ports polished, while the transmission and differentials were thoroughly inspected and found to be in excellent condition, always being serviced with high end synthetic gear oil.
As the spare engine cylinders were in great condition, even keeping their original cross-hatching pattern and retaining their original Porsche Nicasil coating, and being well within the factory specification, new pistons, rings, oil and water pumps, hoses, belts,
bearing, and seals were installed.
The starter motor and alternator were professionally overhauled to 0-hour specifications. The spare engine installed is also built to 0-hour specifications, with only less than 15 hours of operation accumulated since it was installed in this car, and only for testing its operation and systems integration. The engine requires a break-in period as per the factory requirements.
