Description
1994 BMW R100 GS Paris Dakar
I have owned the bike since November 2022. I originally bought it as an adventure bike to travel on European tours but quickly realised it was too big and heavy for the off road adventures I was planning. I didn't want to worry about dropping it and devaluing it. But most importantly picking it up as I was solo travelling. I bought a Royal Enfield Himalayan instead and that suited my purposes for the adventures I eventually went on.
The bike has just 3 previous owners since being imported to the UK from Germany in 2005 (The original German registration papers are present in the file). The bike is recorded in various documents as first manufactured in 1994 but first registered on 24/ 06/ 95 in Germany, A father and son were the keepers from 2009 until my purchase in 2022. The father carried out a lot of mechanical work and repainted the bike to its current BMW wine colour. I have a full file of invoices, mot certificates, V5C'c etc from its ownership from 2009. I have had the bike MOT'd twice myself and replaced the rear tyre and had one advisory on a MOT (Loose steering linkage ball joint) fixed within a week of the MOT. The current MOT expires 20. 08. 25 and has no advisories.
The mileage is in KM but equates to 46600 miles (NOT 56000 miles as in ad) in 26 years, averaging 1792 miles a year. So very low for this classic mile muncher. The bike has also been well serviced and cared for by its former enthusiast owners. Personally when I buy bikes especially classic bikes I am looking to buy from a marque enthusiast who has a well documented history and paper trail which accompanies the bike. This is why I confidently set off on a 1200 miles round trip in the middle of winter to view and purchase this bike on the spot.
The bike has some good quality RIGID spot lights, a USB charging point, the usual GS crash bars as well as metal side panniers and a quantity of spares and service parts included.
I have a few other bikes so this bike has been hardly used between MOT's. It was my intention to keep it in my collection as it's such a lovely looking bike and presents and rides really well. However I am very short of space and its now reluctantly for sale.
This classic model has the old BMW quality unlike the modern BMW's with flaking metal and fast corrosion. I am a BMW fan and have had my share of models over the years including R100S, R90S, K100RS, R1150 GS Adv and currently have a beautiful restored 1964 R69S.
I am very confident that any potential buyer will not be disappointed when viewing and buying this classic BMW. Any inspection welcome. This bike is classic BMW. Great engineering, quality, looks and functionality.
This is a unique bike and a real head turner. You wont believe its 25 years old.
