1982 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit – Low Mileage, Sensible Upgrades, Ready to Use.
This is a low-mileage Silver Spirit with 75, 000 miles, believed genuine and supported by an extensive history file. I’ve had the Rolls for about nine months as a weekend and play car, but now it’s time for something different.
The previous owner had a few Rolls-Royces and kept this one in a heated, air-conditioned garage. It’s tax and MOT exempt, being 42 years old.
It’s just been tuned by AG Classic Car Tuning in Yorkshire (£330). While I’ve owned it, I’ve sorted several reliability-related jobs: I’ve converted the old Lucas Opus ignition to a Pertronix electronic ignition, fitted a Flamethrower coil, a Facet fuel pump, and a Distributor Doctor rotor and distributor cap. It starts and runs well, and there are no warning lights. It drives nicely and seems happiest around 65. I’ve not pushed it beyond 80.
It has good Avon whitewall tyres, and I’ve fitted a Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB stereo (£389). It looks period-correct but gives you Bluetooth streaming, hands-free calling, DAB radio, USB, and AUX – a useful upgrade if you actually want to drive and enjoy the car.
The interior is in nice condition. There’s a set of grubby overmats not pictured that come with it. The bodywork isn’t concours but is fairly straight for its age. There are a few small bubbles here and there, nothing major. The electric windows are slow, as they all are – there’s a known rewire fix online if you want to improve them. Overall, it’s a very genuine car that hasn’t been messed about with or abused. I’d be open to a PX or deal with something interesting. I like old American cars and pickups – fins are a bonus – as well as Classic Range Rovers, Mk1 Transits, Mk1 Granadas, Mercedes 307D panel vans, or a W126 saloon or coupe. I’m not looking for a project car - any PX must be nice and usable.

The car can be seen in SK14 or SK6 near Manchester. As well as GBP, for those who find it convenient, I can also take any combination of EUR, USD, HKD, CNY/ RMB, ₽ (py6), or BTC – either by bank transfer, in cash, or via wallet. For overseas buyers or exporters, delivery to Liverpool or Hull docks can be arranged.
