We are very sad to be selling our beloved 1975
Greek import panel van Indie. We bought it back in 2019, registered her in the UK and fitted out the inside as well as getting £3k of mechanical work done professionally in 2022. She is MOT and TAX exempt but we always have a safety check done each year which she has passed with flying colours.
We have made many good memories in her, but sadly with our two kids we can no longer use her as she only has the bench seat in the front .
The engine has only done under 5000 miles since being replaced and is upgraded for unleaded fuel. She has served us well in the time we’ve had her. All the usual ancillaries were also replaced in the mechanical work, including an electronic ignition distributor, new coil, plugs, leads etc.
Mechanically she has new bearings, brakes, steering drop link arm and steering ball joints all round. The body work is good, she has always been cleaned and ceramic coated. There are a few small patches that could do with a touch up but any rust (minimal and surface only) has been treated. Underneath she is as new, freshly undersealed with minimal welding having ever been done (the beauty of a Greek import!). She is currently stored under and comes with a cover.
In the interior she has an almost full width bed, all the panels have sound deadening, 50mm acoustic/ thermal insulation then a vapour barrier. The sides and roof then have 3mm ply and stained tongue and groove panelling. The floor has 8mm ply and hardwood floor over the top.
Under the bed are two large drawers, a cupboard on the left and bookshelf on the right.
Alongside the bed is a long cupboard with hinged lid. The bed itself is a bespoke 4” hybrid memory foam/ hard backing foam mattress (£600 new that has only been slept on 4 times) There is a second section that sits on the drawers when pulled out to give a full length bed. There is also a cupboard above the bed at the back of the van. In the main inside area there is a breakfast bar and 12v fridge. We also made bespoke window covers with vapour barriers that sucker on the inside and have popper mounts on the bodywork.
The front is stock with a two part bench seat and new aircraft style seatbelts, 3 point inertia reel on the sides and lap belt in the middle. The gearstick has a quick shift kit and mechanically she runs like a dream.
We also have a full length NLA roof rack that was powder coated for a chrome effect. This needs new slats but comes with a side ladder. This could be included for an additional £400.
There is also a front toddler hammock we never fitted, again an extra £100.
Bits to do, small paint touch ups, shown in photos. Front head lining needs fitting and she needs a new inside light bulb (maintenance we haven’t had time to do with two under 3).
Indie is an amazing van and a real head turner. There are no other vans kitted out like her and with a small amount of work she could also be a show winner. Very sad sale but hoping another couple can give her the life we intended and have fun travelling in her.
