Description
Very Special, Original Factory built 1975 MGB GT V8!
Engine built with over 200bhp, upgraded suspension & brakes. Professionally restored in 2020, total cost approx £27k.
Sounds, handles and stops extremely well! (And looks standard!)
Bought in 2019 with a full MOT, from a dealer with 77k miles from new only 6 previous owners and Ziebart protected from new. 4 speed manual with overdrive. Used in Summer 2019 as was, then in 2020 I gave it to Martin Stubbs Bodyworks at Thirsk and he replaced the sills, trumpets, front wings, door skins. It wasnt bad, but I wanted it right so we replaced everything that wasnt perfect. I also bought a new heritage bonnet. Martin then did a full bare metal respray.
I gave the engine to CAS Engineering in Northallerton. I wanted it outwardly to look standard i. e. retain the SU carbs and original intake manifold, but have max Torque. Adding big valve heads, high lift cam, high compression pistons, 19 hours of improving air flow! Lots of other upgraded new parts including lightweight starter motor. Resulting in great flexibility, torque and around 200bhp.
It’s so enjoyable, rewarding and easy to drive. It has new uprated Suspension, uprated ARB, polly bush kit, upgraded brakes. I also added a MGOC panhard rod kit. Many other new parts were fitted in 2020/ 21, to ensure maximum reliability.
The result is a great handling and quick MGB GT V8 but looks standard. Its very easy and great fun to drive, with an immense sound track! I'd happily drive the car any distance, never had any issues at all since the restoration (in approx 500 miles). Very Special Factory build MGB GT V8!
