Description
1980 VW Type 2 Devon Moonraker, 4 birth, walkthrough camper van.
We have owned Garfield (our name for her) for the last 4 years and the previous owners were VW enthusiasts like myself and did a fantastic job of the bare metal restoration/ improvements.
This show winning camper is useable for a family of 4 to enjoy and below you will see a long list of improvements that have been made to the running gear, safety features and a number of luxuries, making this a camper van that not only looks spectacular but one that is also very practical, comfortable, and most importantly safe to enjoy for years to come.
I have owned a couple of more modern campers in the past, but what drew me to this bus was its stunning looks, uprated engine, original full Length ‘Devon’ roof and practicality for a Type 2. This has been perfect for us as it is 4 birth - two (average adults) sleep up in the roof and two down stairs plus you can stand up in the van as the upstairs bed boards can slide left or right which enables you to stand up whilst cooking etc. It is called a ‘Moonraker’ as it was manufactured in 1979 the same year as the James Bond film.
