Description
1934 Austin Nippy in blue over black mudguards. Black leather seats. Appreciably faster than the Austin Seven saloons of the same period, the Nippy was Austin's 2-seater sports model.
Much improved during 17 years in current ownership. Always garaged and lightly used for social rallies and shows.
Paperwork includes green and buff log books going back to 1958. Various bills in folder. The engine (M223789) has the high-compression head and is lively and superbly balanced after a rebuild by Pigsty Racing in 2012. They fitted a Phoenix 1 5/ 16 crank, forged pistons and their faster profile cam. They also fitted a modern oil filter which makes sense for competitive driving but would be easy to remove if you want a more original look.
The correct (and rare) downdraft carburettor is fitted. Gearbox is the original 4-speed unit with synchromesh.
Hood, hood cover and mats were replaced in 2011. Many other detailed improvements.
I will include my copy of Chris Gould's Guide to the Austin 65 and Nippy with the sale.
