Description
For Sale: MK4 Golf R32 5 Door - 111, 568 Miles
I'm reluctantly parting with my beloved MK4 Golf R32, which I've owned since 2009. When I bought it, the car had only covered 50, 000 miles, and it's been a joy ever since. Now, with 111, 568 miles on the clock, it remains in excellent condition, both cosmetically and mechanically, only minor age-related marks to note and one paint defect on the boot lid, which I haven't got round to replacing.
This car has been very well looked after, with a Part Service History (1 year missed) last service was at 106, 000 mostly from main dealers, and most recently serviced by VW specialist P&P Autos. It's completely standard aside from the KW Coilovers and Milltek exhaust, which gives it that lovely R32 growl.

The car is registered in April 2003 and has been a fantastic companion, offering both performance and practicality. It's ready for its next owner to enjoy! My MK4 Golf R32 in Deep Blue Pearl is a cult classic that oozes early-2000s performance charm. Launched in 2003, it was the pinnacle of the Golf lineup at the time and the first Golf to wear the R badge. But it’s not just about the badge—it’s what’s under the hood and how it makes you feel behind the wheel.
Here’s why it’s amazing to drive:
The Engine: A naturally aspirated 3. 2-liter VR6 engine pushing out around 240 hp. It’s got that signature growl and a linear power delivery that’s addicting. No turbos, no delays—just immediate response and a spine-tingling exhaust note, especially with a good aftermarket system.
The Sound: That deep, throaty burble of the VR6 is pure music. It sounds exotic compared to most inline-4s of its era—and even today.
Haldex AWD: The MK4 R32 was the first Golf to feature Haldex-based all-wheel drive, giving it all-weather traction and cornering stability. It hooks up out of corners like a beast, especially in the wet.
6-Speed Manual: No flappy paddles here—just a proper gated 6-speed manual that connects you to the car. The clutch has weight, the gearbox feels solid, and it rewards smooth, committed driving.
Chassis & Feel: It's planted, confident, and balanced. You get that tight hatchback tossability, but with the poise of a much more expensive sports car. It feels solid—like it was carved from a single piece of steel.
Looks: In blue, the MK4 R32 is just iconic. The flared arches, mesh grille, dual center exhausts, and 18" OZ Aristo wheels give it a purposeful, muscular stance without being flashy. It's classy, but with bite.
In short: it’s a driver’s car. Not the fastest by today’s standards, but one that makes every trip feel like an event. It’s got character, soul, and that old-school analog vibe that modern cars just can’t replicate.
