1972 Mercedes w115, 220d, manual saloon.
I have owned this car in total for around 8-9 years. Selling it back to the previous owner half way through, before requiring it a couple of years later. Owning for the last 4+ years.
This is a regular weekend driver, whenever the sun is out and the roads are dry, I use it. Mainly locally, the top speed makes motorway driving over longer distances abit restrictive. When not in use, it's always in my garage, or under the carport.
If I leave it for 6 months over the winter, I don't even need to charge the battery, it just starts straight up.
In the last 4 year stint of ownership it's had a new flywheel, clutch and starter motor. New v-belts, new door and front and rear windscreen seals, and brake calipers all round. The interior fan works fine too (horrible job to replace, which I did the first time I owned it)
This is not a mint garage fine, or a fully restored original. It's a slightly scruffy daily driver. It's had an array of repairs over the years, some good, some not so good. It really "is what it is". You accept it as it is, or you spend £10/ 20k and get a restored one.
Im still driving it with no problems, but items on the to-do list would be: old (but fine) tyres, tracking off centre, windscreen has a crack in the bottom corner.
You're welcome to come and look and see if it's for you. Its not got the value to justify a restoration, so accept it as is, and love it (gets attention everywhere I drive), or spend more on a better one.
There is abit of paperwork with it. I believe it originally came from Spain.
The only condition on sale is that I get first refusal to buy it back in the future if you decide to sell
I'm looking to buy a v8 116 or 107, and would rather not have 2 classics.
