Description
triumph stag automatic. restoration project, been parked up over 30 years so I understand,. car has various areas of corrosion etc but is in remarkable condition after all the time laid up.
the main problem I would say is the fact the engine (origonal 3. 0 v8) wont turn over. probably due to water in the bore, the car I was told suffered a headgasket faliure , didnt they all, the car was then driven to where it was stored left for over 30 years , DVLA show last taxed in November 1987 ?
car is very origonal and not got at.
interior is in remarkable condition apart from a chewed hole at the base of the rear seat upright, very annoying.
sadly the same rodent has also gone crazy on the soft top . Everything else looks unchewed !!!!!
auto gearbox oil looks nice and clean (red)
Hard top hasnt suffered in the places they normally do very solid.
floors and chassis very good.
the fuel tank was removed and drained when it was parked. still in good order and with the car.
Nice colour.
Obviously car requires full restoration , some welding will be required. . But will make a very genuine excellent car when done.
please look at the photos .
Also included with the car, a set of 8 pistons hepolte +40. They have been run , but for a very small mileage , some of the pistons do have very slight valve marks on the crown, but very good and usable , that would give a cheap option to rebore this block if needed.
Also included a new old stock stainless steel exhaust system , less one front pipe, but pair off good stainless steel good used front pipes.
I had a few stags back in the day, so when this popped up very local to me I couldn't say no, but with my Jensen still sat waiting for some attention the stag is going to sit there even longer, if it doesn't sell then it will go back inside for another day.
car is in S, Devon. payment on collection please. Yes it needs a full resto, but overall a very genuine not messed with in quite a rare colour, overall very solid but will require some welding .
