The Audi A2 is quite a special car, not least through its highly innovative design and construction in aluminium and its ahead-of-its-time dynamics and features. But it was expensive, with Audi reputedly losing money on every one built and sold. However in 2003 a special edition was introduced, based on the A2 SE called 'Colour Storm', some say, to boost sales of their exceptionally under-rated mini-MPV.
My car is a 2004 Storm, in 'Sprint Blue', sporting the fetching, blue-chequered upholstery, black 'carbon' bodykit, and the rugged and dependable 1. 4 TDi engine. Aside from having the full service history of the car from new (below), in my ownership it's had an OEM-parts cruise control installed; it's had a bluetooth module added to the Concert 2 sound system which provides seamless music and GoogleMaps connectivity with a phone; and a gentle re-map from Stealth Racing to raise its power to 105bhp, an increase of 30%. With a correspondingly similar increase in torque, this terrific lightweight car now has susbstantially improved 'grunt' making it a pleasure to drive easily keeping up with city traffic but also for quiet, effortless cruising long-distance. Astonishingly, this appears to have also improved the already brilliant fuel economy: for example, with the cruise control set at 2600rpm - giving just over 70mph - this car regularly returns well over 60mpg on a run.
The Storm version also included variant-specific 17", 9-spoke alloys, which are all in pretty good condition on my car, and has had black Audi centre caps recently re-fitted which are becoming increasingly difficult to acquire. Premium Vredstien Ultrac tyres were also recently fitted to all four corners (Nov 24) which now gives a great, quiet ride and superior grip especially in the wet. I've had this car since only May 2024. I simply couldn't resist it, not least as it is a Storm variant and hence somewhat special. It is the second A2 I've owned, the previous one for 6 years and 90, 000 trouble-free miles. But this 'Storm' is one of my small collection of Audis (which includes a Mk1 TT Roadster 225q, also for sale, and an amazing S1), and my head has over-rulled my heart to tell me I don't need three cars, especially on our congested roads down here in the South. So the A2 is to be the first to be put on the market.
This car has been well-maintained throughout its life. Original Audi documents, in their wallet are present, with main-dealer service history stamps present for the the first few years of its life. Since then, the huge history file details virtually no expense spared to keep this A2 in tip-top condition. The odometer is showing at 120, 040 miles but the car is in limited use so this will change slightly. This mileage is believed to be genuine both from the extensive service history shown below together with MoT history freely available here.
