Description
1984 Austin Ambassador 2. 0HLS
For sale is this remarkable Austin Ambassador with only 48k miles on it from new, the eagle eyed among you may have spotted this at classic car shows, it’s also been featured on ‘Piston Heads’ website and we have copies of two features in classic car weekly , the first from 2003 when the car was on sale for £750! The second feature where ‘Classic Car weekly’ suggested a value of £6250!
Back in 2007 the car was rescued from a driveway where the car had been unused for a few years, it was carefully recommissioned and used on the classic car circuit and in 2014 was treated to a full respray to repair the dull paint etc , since then it has been used sparingly .
The car is still in fantastic condition, there are a few minor imperfections but nothing the detracts from the overall all car.
In 2023 the car had cambelt failure and received a reconditioned cylinder head , whilst this was being done they added hardened valve seats so the car can now run correctly on unleaded fuel.
The interior is also in great condition and is extremely comfortable, I am amazed how well these drive , the ride would put most modern cars to shame.
We have the original hand books , service book , unipart accessories brochure, old MOT’s and lots of invoices for parts and maintenance over the years
This is an extremely rare car now ( single digits apparently). So if you’re in the market for a quirky rare car which was one of Austin’s finest then this one should be considered.
Also this is now a historic vehicle so is free to tax , no need for an MOT (but we will be selling with 12 Months MOT) and ULEZ compliant!
