Description
Austin Seven Ruby Mk1 1935
Owned by current owners, who were both A7 enthusiasts, for the last 23 years.
Originally purchased by the owner’s deceased wife, the Ruby along with the owner’s RK Fabric Saloon, is sadly being sold due to the loss of driving license.
The car has always been maintained and the body is rust free.
The car drives very well and is a regular participant in Cambridge Austin Seven club events and rallies.
Although in good condition it would benefit from a few minor improvements, namely a small area of paint damage on the roof, the driver’s window winder mechanism needs repair and there is a tear in the lining of the sunroof, as can be seen in the photographs. Previous owner renovated the Ruby in 1980 and kept it until the sale to the current owners in 2002.
Included in the Ruby’s documentation are:
9 MOTs between 1999 and 2012 and a series of invoices.
Original Handbook and Spare Parts List.
Rally plaques and documentation from the Ruby’s participation in the Austin Seven London to Brighton runs in 2005 and 2009.
Photos of the Ruby being displayed in a silver award winning garden display at the Chelsea Flower Show in 1996.
An amusing picture of the Ruby from a 2024 event was published in the August edition of the A7CA Magazine.
