Description

I have owned this great UK CR (125 hp) TR6 for 14 years, bought from Bill Postins of Warwickshire. I now have a deposit on another classic, so this is sensibly priced to sell. Finished in Mimosa Yellow, probably the best TR6 colour, with a brown interior including leather seats. The car had a bare metal restoration with photographic record and an engine rebuilt in the early 2000s. Has a Bosch fuel pump, smooth overdrive and has been well maintained, with a file of documents. Always dry stored in my ownership. Comes with a very good (no tears) mohair hood and hood bag, tonneau cover and even a yellow hard top if you want it- I removed it as soon as I bought the car and it has been dry stored since. Excellent tyres sit on 72-spoke painted wheels- including the spare.
In my ownership the car has been maintained by a local classic car guru - the last main job was to replace the clutch master cylinder in 2023. It has had gentle and sympathetic improvements in my ownership, including electronic ignition. The black vinyl interior was a little tatty when I bought the car and I have upgraded it to the much nicer original Triumph alternative of brown- much better with the yellow body and the seats are excellent. Cracked vinyl door cappings were replaced with solid wood in the style of earlier variants, made by Chapman and Cliff, suppliers to Rolls Royce in the past. A good quality brown carpet set and mats completes the interior, which also has a radio. There is a removable fold down wind deflector behind the passenger seats, just as modern open tops have. This makes a huge difference to how much you get buffeted - so much more comfortable! This is the perfect colour combo, and with the hood down is a lovely sunny day drive. I haste never taken it out on rainy days. It was even my daughter’s wedding car two years ago, when the sun shone! It’s a head turner, a great drive and has no dents, great chrome, just a few very small chips. There is a scratch about an inch long in the rear deck panel behind the driver’s head - which I was responsible for when taking the hard top off. It’s a fun car to have, pulls wonderfully, the smooth overdrive on 3rd and 4th gives the car long legs so cruises very comfortably. I am not asking a crazy price- unlike some others advertised- but a fair one to attract a new owner who will enjoy this British classic like I have…and still do until the car is sold!
