Created to mark a change of pace compared to the T-Series models, with elegant, aerodynamic and extraordinarily modern lines for the time, it revolutionised the styling of the MG brand, becoming a true timeless icon. Girder chassis, steel bodywork, rear-wheel drive, in-line 4-cylinder B-series 1489 cm3 engine, rack-and-pinion steering, independent-wheel suspension at the front and rigid axle with leaf springs at the rear. The wheels were fitted with Lockheed drum brakes and there was a choice of spoked wheels or steel rims. This roadster was pure driving pleasure: Agile and manoeuvrable, it won over generations of enthusiasts. The engine offers brilliant performance, while the open-top experience amplifies every journey. Very few improvements such as: Addition of cortechi on crankshaft and overhauled original shock absorbers to avoid oil leaks in both cases; Differential pinion/ crown to lengthen gears with consequent reduction in RPM; Stainless steel muffler; Oversized radiator to avoid overheating; Tankerite treated tank; Braking system with silicone oil, new wooden bottoms and electrical system.
