Here we have a very solid 1967 300SEL with the original M189 - 300 Engine the miles/ KM are original it has been off the road since 1976 it was at this date painted black from its original G180 Mercedes silver as you can see on photograph with rear door panels removed to take of the rear door handles when returning car to bare metal, how this car managed to stay so solid been a UK car is very lucky, the chrome took a hit and a good 95% has been replaced with very nice chrome, it will come with two very good conditioned wings as the original ones have gone on front tops as they all do, the new ones are solid metal, this car was striped to bare metal and has zero filler and been coated in a non rust undercoat that's also gloss black at present, I wanted to see the car's condition and the old paint had to be removed as I wanted to coat it back to original G180 silver been a very rare valued car, painting car is a very exspensive job and did not want to see rust spots a year down the road, this will now not be the case as the car is 99. 9% rust free, has the very simple speedboat dashboard of the pre-1968, with burl walnut caps all over the car that the 1965-1967 had, the 300 m189 ENGINE is a two year window and has the same engine block as the Mercedes Gullwing they call it the M198 you can get a crazy 1000hp out of this engine been a straight six engine, the interior looks less cluttered and simple looking some say more roomy and elegant on this non headrest and simple design early dash, it's pure and simple with original very nice black leather full interior in fantastic condition, the carpet is dark charcoal velour original spec, the old ones were passed the sell buy date am affraid, the combination of colours are going to look classy, the roof lining is also very nice 99. 9% perfect also, the carpets are new and replaced to originals, the car has a ton of great chrome purchased from all over the world, the floor are very solid no rust at all, the doors have no rust to, the shell alone is worth well over £10, 000, and the engine is worth over 10, 000 all the chrome another bits are silly money also, the parts alone for this car are worth over 40, 000 it's fitted with the 6. 3 gear box and rear diff and all its suspension the MK1 300SEL - 300 is the connoisseur and aficionado gentleman choice, the hardcore Mercedes collector, this car is very, very rare and it's the perfect original colour, it has two set of perfect bumpers, it needs paint brakes fitting , fuel injection system pump was removed as it was going to be made into a racing car many years ago in the mid 1970s for another car and is missing, original space keys present and log book, reg also original, has original rings and caps for wheels and Mexican hats available, amazing potential, high valued classic, with original low millage, cracked windscreen all other glass is perfect so are the door cards, this car is so solid, just a little hole under battery tray that's it as usual can't escape places on the w109.
Hopefully they'll be an admirer and the car will be put back in time to 1967 and enjoyed again, it got this fare it has some strong quality's and appeal maybe a charity case or a good investment or just a great journey to be part of. This car's interior and been so solid is what makes all the time and hard work pay off one day, you open the car doors and you see old S-class what Mercedes w109 looks like back in the analog mono days of 1967, so..
Made in 1967 was on the road 9yrs, stored in 1976 and for a 58yrs old car thats nearly 50yrs off the road next year, will it ever shoot down the M1 again?
