Description
FAW 930D is a 1966 Mk1 (G-HN3) MGB Roadster that was first registered 10th January 1966. It is now 59 years old and exempt from both road tax and MOT's. In 2020 (2000 miles ago) the car had a total restoration costing £22, 000. There is a huge history file on the car with old invoices and MOT's going back to 1991. There are lots of pictures of the car and a CD showing the 2020 restoration. The car is in superb condition. The body is very straight and the red paintwork is beautiful. It sits on silver painted wire knock on wheels that are shod with a nearly new set of matching Falken 165/ 80R14 tyres. The chrome is excellent on the grille, headlight rims, handles, bumpers, over riders, locking fuel cap and door mirrors. The car has an almost new packaway hood in dark red that looks fantastic on the car. There is also a works hardtop in black and a full tonneau witth tonneau bars that can be used fully or used in 1/ 2 or 3/ 4 position. The boot area is fully carpeted, very clean and has a full compliment of spare wire wheel and all the tools. The underside of the car is in great shape with a nice coat of Stone chip to protect it (not underseal to cover up repairs) and a stainless steel exhaust. The inside of the car is just right with black leather seats and red piping and just the right amount of patina, a lovely Moto-Lita steering wheel and a pair of fitted seatbelts. Mechanically it is spot on with excellent 65psi oil pressure from the 5 bearing 1800 engine and a smooth 4 speed gearbox with the advantage of overdrive. It has an electric radiator fan, 12v battery conversion, spin on oil filter adaptor and the engine has had a refresh with new rings, clutch and importantly an unleaded head. Also over the last few years: fuel pump, shock absorbers, wheel cylinders, starter motor, poly bushing, anti roll bar, brake master, brake shoes, brake hose, water pump, calipers, bearings, leaf springs, uprated radiator, halogen lamps and more! There is a heritage certificate and a drivers handbook. It looks superb, sounds superb and drives superb.
