Description
This classic Armstrong Siddeley Sapphire 346 is in excellent condition bodily and mechanically. It has clearly been repainted some time recently and the ivory paintwork is still immaculate. The chrome is good but not as new and the interior in rich red leather is in great condition as are the thick red carpets. The car was used for weddings by the previous owner and is still suitable for such use as well as simply rolling around the countryside. This car is, I think, the easiest starting car I have ever had and fires up reliably even after months of winter disuse and the big six cylinder engine is as smooth as it was decades ago. The gear change is the classic Armstrong Siddeley pre-selector and operates perfectly via not a fluid flywheel but a centrifugal clutch. The only problem I have had is with overheating but I cured that issue by replacing or repairing several parts that added up to that problem. The chrome is really good but not as new and there are no mechanical or bodywork problems that I am aware of. My reason for selling is that I'm quite old and no longer able to manage the number of classics I have. I bought the car to enjoy the pleasure of a preselector and the comfort of a large car and have done so and now it is time for me to offer the car to someone who will get as much enjoyment as I have.
