Description
My Ford Escort 4 door saloon is in very good condition and a solid example of this model.
It has a 1600 crossflow engine running on twin Weber DCOE 40 carburettors. The engine has had a complete strip and rebuild 200 miles ago, details of which can be supplied if required ( it is still running in the new bearings.)
It has a big valve cylinder head ported and polished, a BcF3 Kent camshaft timed correctly with a vernier camshaft sprocket, also a high pressure high capacity oil pump, and runs with an electric fuel pump with a pressure regulator, it is also fitted with an oil catch tank connected to engine breathers.
The engine drives a Type 9, 5speed gearbox with quick shift stick connected to a Burton 1 piece prop shaft driving an RS2000 rear axle complete with standard RS2000 differential and brake setup.
The car has Gaz front coil overs, and adjustable track control arms.
It has a quick steering rack.
Front M16 calibers with vented discs.
Spax adjustable rear dampers with single leaf rear springs on lowering blocks.
There is a spare set of 4 x 7Jx13 alloy wheels and tyres which also come with the car. (these alloys could do with a refurb)
I will do my best to answer any questions any potential buyers may have.
Just to be clear the photos posted in this ad are not historical, they were taken this week, so what you see is what you get. I have owned this car for 6 years, the log book shows 10 previous keepers, the owner before the one I purchased it from did a full bare shell renovation I believe between 2010 and 2017, He started the renovation from a standard 1300XL Escort automatic. I have photos of the shell on a rotary jig during that renovation. On completion in February 2017 the car was a front page feature in RETROFORD MAGAZINE. A copy of which comes with the car along with some receipts and old MOT certificates. It is with a heavy heart that I am putting this car up for sale, but I am afraid old age is catching up with me and it is not getting the use it should, and I am unable to give it the attention it deserves.
