Description
Developed in 1951 as a Grand Prix racer using a AJS 7R rolling chassis fitted with a modified G9 roadster engine.
From 1951-1957 just 80 0f these machines were built and it is thought that only around half of that number survive to this day.
The power plant is a 498cc parallel twin cylinder with pushrod actuated overhead valves.

Purchased from the estate of a professional engineer and bike racer who having failed to locate an original, created a new G45 engine.
Modified G9 crankcases were sourced from Team Obsolete in the USA, and after a considerable period of time and hard work, a complete G45 engine was completed.
The bike was tested on completion and was stored in a private museum but has not run for many years and will require a recommission. A chance to acquire an extremely rare and sought after vintage race bike at a realistic price.
