Description
Stunning example of BMW's iconic E34 5-series
This sale is forced by relocation outside the UK - a true heartbreak to let this car go. I was planning to keep it for at least the next 5 years, while continuously improving it.
History & Condition:
- Exceptionally well-preserved 1991 BMW 520i. A rare find with no rust in the usual problem areas.
- Stored in a dry garage in England for over 10 years until 2023
- Limited use with previous London owner
- In my care since April 2024
5, 000 reliable miles under my ownership
Long-hauls & daily:
- Drove from London to Edinburgh immediately after purchase
- Handled a fully-loaded trip to Glencoe with 5 people and camping gear
- Used for weekly countryside escapes and daily city driving
It's more reliable than my previous 2-year-old VW!
Maintenance & Repairs (During My Ownership, spent over £2000):
- Power steering (fluid & filter)
- Gearbox fluid & filter change
- New original fan motor
- Brake system overhaul (pads, disks, fluid, sensors, etc)
- New fuel lines
- New exhaust (rear box & middle section)
- Minor suspension parts (links)
- Engine service
- Upgraded audio system (6 speakers + custom-fitted subwoofer & new head unit)
Body:
Remarkable preservation for its age
Original paint with only minor scuffs and blemishes
Solid, rust-free example that's increasingly hard to findAmazing low-risk entry into the growing classic car market. E34 models still under the radar compared to the E30 (which now command £7, 000-£8, 000). Substantial potential for price growth as classic BMW appreciation continues.
A seriously good opportunity to own a piece of BMW's golden era. The E34 5-series is widely regarded as one of the most reliable and well-built BMW models ever produced, with timeless design by Claus Luthe.
