Description

Porsche 356 B T5 Roadster 1600 60 hp with a very special history known since 1987 (which I will be happy to tell those seriously interested in buying). Year 12/ 1960 One of the 2180 T5 Roadsters produced. Elegant colour combination, metallic silver with red leather interior, like the Porsche 356 no. 1 of 1948! Porsche certificate of origin.
In perfect condition only 400 km. from the restoration carried out to perfection by Porsche 356 experts. Italian number plates ready to pass. Car visible in the province of Bergamo by appointment. I value partial exchange of my liking, preferably Porsche 964, 993, 996, 997 pre-2005, or rare or special car.

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE MODEL The Roadster version of the Porsche 356 can be considered the last of the Speedsters in that it retains the original characteristics that began in October 1954 when a new, sportier body appeared on the list, simplified in equipment and soundproofing, with a more affordable price.
The Speedster differed from the other 356 cabriolets in that the windscreen was smaller and not integrated into the bodywork, but set in a fully chromed frame, removable windows, an emergency folding roof with no inner lining, separate wrap-around seats, a new dashboard with the three instruments (rev counter, odometer and combined) arranged in a semi-circle, no glovebox and a gold frieze with the inscription 'Porsche'. Produced until August 1958 in 4144 units. In August 1958 it was replaced by the 'Convertible D' model, still retaining the sporty character but improving ride comfort by now having rising glass windows instead of removable ones, normal upholstered seats that were more comfortable than wraparound ones and closable side pockets on both doors. A total of 1330 examples were produced until September 1959. September 1959 saw the birth of the 356 B, the result of the Technical Programme 5 (T5) and a body facelift with numerous technical modifications. An affordable two-seater open model could not be missing: thus the 'Roadster' was born. Like the 'Convertible D', the 'Roadster' was produced by the Drauz coachworks, in 2180 units, and by D'Ieteren Frères in Belgium, in 473 units, until September 1961. Between the end of 1961 and early 1962, around 250 'Roadsters' with T6 bodywork were built, the last ones produced.
