I have had this since January 2024 and it has 4 previous owners. It’s a superb thing, drives really tightly, gearbox is the best I have ever used, engine is brilliant and the build quality very impressive. The engine with it's sedate and then ballistic hot hatch VTEC qualities works really well for me but I’ve a burning desire for a 911 whilst the kids can still fit in the back and I can just about afford one.
Cosmic grey, 82, 000 miles, full Honda main dealer service history with 10 stamps in the book and 4 previous owners. Most recent service was a fortnight ago by Marshall Honda York plus a clean MOT from Jan ’25. Looking at the MOT history it was off the road for 4 years between 2017 and 2021.
I have a huge lump of paperwork, two keys with working fobs, all manuals, service book and pouch.
It has AC which blows properly cold and fog lights which I believe were also an optional extra.
I bought it from a chap in Huddersfield that specialises in them and I was particularly keen as it was close to OEM spec with sensible mileage, low owners and FHSH. I have spent a decent lump, certainly more than I was intending to, refreshing it and putting the suspension back to stock.
Immediately prior to my purchase it had just had the wheels refurbished, new exhaust centre section and good used OEM back box put on. Drilled and grooved front brake kit put on in early 2023.
Interior - I put an original set of seats in, new OEM Type R floor mats, sourced a proper Honda single DIN stereo to get rid of the double DIN crap that didn’t work and tidied it all up. It’s not unmarked but certainly very good for a 20 year old car. Pictures taken in bright sunlight which makes dark interior appear faded which is far from the case.
Bodywork – I’ve had the front and rear bumpers and lower spoilers repainted by Colour Crazy just south of York. Not the kind of guy that has or needs a website but it’s a great job and perfectly matched. Front has picked up a handful of tiny stone chips in the 6 months since doing it which I have not touched in yet. Rear is immaculate. Only marks to speak of on the rest of the bodywork are a tiny dent in the bonnet which I can’t get to show up in pics. Everything else is very, very clean.
Underneath – again pretty clean and would come up really well with a proper brush down and Lanoguard. I was properly underneath it before I bought it and have been under it again this weekend to double check - can’t find anything to report in the known spots as can be seen in the pics. I have always garaged and it and only use it once a week at most for what is never shorter than 60 miles as a result to working from home and only needing a car to get to a handful of monthly meetings.
Engine – pulls superbly all the way through and the VTEC kicks in strongly as it should. Starts first time and always has done. Engine bay is all very clean and tidy. Been faultless and can’t think of anything else to add really!
Suspension - I replaced the aftermarket springs last summer and put OEM springs backon all round, together with new rear OEM spec' shockers, top mounts and ARBs. This work was done by Blenk Engineering in York and Mark really knows his stuff having previously been a rally mechanic and driver for what that’s worth. Looks after a couple of CTRs and a mint Integra Type R.
Tyres – Uniroyal Rainsport 5s which are down to 3mm all round. I have been trying to decide what to put on it but given the timing I intend to let someone else make the choice.
