Description
1971 BSA 650 Lightening oil in frame.
The BSA A65 Lightening P39 frame was designed in Humberslade Hall by aeronautical engineers in 1969. It was destined to be a flyer with these credentials.
The already proven 650cc motor of the a65 could make 52Hp and pull the bike along from standstill to 60mph in around 6. 5 seconds heading to a top speed of 100mph in standard tune.
This BSA has been mildly transformed into a street scrambler with most of the original parts retained.
The addition of the electronic ignition helps it generally start within 2 kicks.
This bike is of course tax and MOT exempt and rides extremely nicely. It comes with stacks of service history and has been mine since 2022.
I’m selling this bike and my 1971 Triumph Bonneville as I’m downsizing my collection.
Well worth a trip to sunny Dorset. Comes with a thick file of history including various receipts from SRM for mechanical works.
