Please note that I am listing this vehicle again for my brother and shown below is the wording he gave me fairly recently. I deleted the previous listing as the van was going to be trailered to Oxfordshire to have the work done for the MOT. This is now planned for May unless the sale is successful in the meantime. It is currently stored at a garage and they are only open Mon-Fri for viewings.
Ford Transit Custom, Mk 4 (Smiley), 1997 / P Registered, SWB, Luxury Trim. 115k miles. 2 former keepers then myself. 1st owner being Jessops, the retail camera chain formally owned (I believe) by Dragons Den star Peter Jones. 2nd owner was a local upholsterer who I know and who still lives in the same road as myself. I am the 3rd owner and I purchased the Transit quite a few years ago as a classic van along with some of my classic cars that I still own. It has had very little use during my ownership and has always been barn stored up until recently. It is now reluctantly for sale as I am having to downsize my collection to raise funds.
This Custom model comes with a luxury interior trim and central locking. It is currently on SORN and will need to be trailered away as the MOT expired quite a few years ago. It will require some work including possibly two new front wings. It is currently at a local garage not too far from Sudbury. They have recently fitted a new battery.
There doesn't appear to be many of these smiley face Transits left which is a great shame as they are excellent vans. Mine ideally needs to be owned by an enthusiast who can have the necessary repairs done. A bit of period sign writing would suit it really well.
The photos on this listing were taken when it was barn stored, however new photos can be taken quite easily - including the interior.
Not sure of the value but one went through Mathewsons Auctions back in February and made nearly 4. 5k. I am ideally looking for £1875. 00 or near offer.
