Description
Retro mod classic mini in Snowberry white with a black roof based on a 1997 Rover MPI mini. This is a replica of my wife's first brand new mini cooper bought from John Sprinzel garage in Lancaster Mews and is a faithful replica with the correct dealer decals. It just goes and stops a lot better and has the modern air bag and crash bar doors of the late Rover mIni's.
This car was was restored and modified by an aircraft engineer over the covid lock down period and a great deal of time and money has been spent to bring this mini up to a class winner. A very skilled and proper job was done on all the well known rust areas on Mpi mini's. All the rot cut away and new panels and body work taken back to bare metal and new steel welded in. Being and aircraft engineer the work is first class and all the new panels have been seamed sealed and the body treated to both Dinitrol and Bilt Hamber rust proofing( it ain't going to rust no more !) one of the reasons I bought it.
It sits on 10" cooper s rims and yoko tyres and handles like a dream as a proper mini should. It also has uprated brakes and suspension and is great for track days. Back in the swinging sixties I had a 1071cc cooper S tuned by John Sprinzel and was surprised and delighted to have a girl friend with a brand new mini cooper and this car is a modern recreation of her car as a wedding anniversary present to her. We have now had the car over 3. 5 years and undertaken many mini adventures in it, both track days and classic car rallies and it is now time to move it on and invest the money in our next sports car a Triumph TR 4.
This car has had just 4 previous owners with the original bill of sale and service records and Mot certificates. There is also and extensive history file of all the new and replacement parts fitted during the restoration with invoices from Mini Spares and Wood & Pickett.
