I bought this car in May last year I was at my local Volvo specialist in St. Leonards (Tivoli Volvo ) arranging for work on my XC40. I have owned numerous old Volvos in the past and in conversation with the garage owner mentioned that I was currently without one. He said that he had one out the back and I ended up buying the car
The car was supplied originally by Tivoli and had been maintained by them and was being sold as part of deceased estate. I bought the car as a MOT failure. Having got the MOT work completed onin August 1st I put the car back on the road.

The car is very original with a current mileage of 122467
240 SE 2. 3 fuel injection 1993 estate 5 speed manual
I am the third owner. Car was first registered 24/ 04/ 93 and purchased three years later on 01/ 11/ 96 by the second owner who had it for 28 years. I am no expert but this would appear to make it a very late car in the production run
Very good condition blue velour interior, very good condition headlining, original radio cassette , factory fitted dog guard, Tow bar.
Drives really well with no gearbox/ axle noise and seems better on fuel than a previous 740 with same size engine I owned although I have not worked out the exact consumption
According to the engine bay sticker Cam belt was changed 3/ 11/ 21 at 119187
Everything works ( even the fuel gauge ). The only exception is the mileage trip reset

Bad Bits
No service history paperwork - Car was maintained at Tivoli but the owner did not keep the paperwork
Wheel arch rust( photos ) - Drivers side being the worst
There is some rust just below the rear tailgate ( photo ) but the tailgate itself is very good
There are a few minor dents/ scratches as might be expected on a 30 year car
Small hole in one headlight
