MG Midget 1500 1976 Flamenco Red, Tax, MOT, and ULEZ exempt, 68651 miles.
This MG came to us in 2018 with 66392 miles on the clock from a friend who had it stored in his barn for many years and he had bought it from another friends widow so I have known this car for around 20 years. Although it ran and drove it really needed re-commissioning.
So late 2018 & through into 2019 I started to go through the car checking and renewing parts as this was going to be for the use of my 2 sons on occasions. The list is too long but the notable parts were a new "Dons Trimming" quality Hood with extra zip out back window, reconditioned Gearbox, new clutch, Clutch Master & slave cylinders plus flexi pipe, new Discs, Disc back plates & Pads, front & rear wheel bearings, new fuel tank and copper feed pipe plus all rubber pipes, all new coolant hoses, Stainless Steel rear Silencers exhaust, 2 new Inertia seat belts with seat belt guides fitted to head rests, fitted rare centre consol with new remote control MP3 radio with USB and Bluetooth Hands Free phone connection, and clock.
There were loads of other items also carried out at this time and continued all through our ownership.
I have just fitted a new battery and refurbished all 5 wheels.
Everything works and the hood and interior are in good condition, in over the 6 years we have owned its only travelled 2259 miles as it was only used during the summer months lightly.
It has good oil pressure and engine temp runs cool.
the hood cover is an original and is in good condition with all studs and tenex present.
There are 2 sets of Keys for all locks and the doors and boot are all on the same key and all lock still.
There is a lot of history bills and receipts including original hand book, including 14 old MOTs
This MG presents well in all areas but the paint work does show its age now, also there is a slight whine on the differential at higher speeds.
