Description

(Price drop of £2k as looking to sell now.) Beautiful, very cool and increasingly rare RHD 1971 Mercedes 250 CE Coupe which has been painstakingly restored. It is fully serviced, with four new tyres and running beautifully also. It is ULEZ, MOT and tax exempt. (To see video footage of the car, go to YouTube channel @ Mikatuo).

Silver with a black interior, this two door W114 model has come to be regarded as a design classic due to its long lines and its pillarless windows. The car was taken down to its wheel arches to remove all rust (an issue often with older cars and Mercedes) and rebuilt with a full restoration of all the bodywork including floor plates. The seats have also been restored and re-upholstered in a beautiful matt black leather & the interior & boot flooring replaced also.

It is a stunning and perfect around town or country car which will continue to increase in value as this model generally becomes increasingly rare. A popular model in its day and widely considered as one of the most reliable engines in history, many of them were taken off the road & not restored. This has led to there being significantly less of them at a time when the beauty of the shape & design of the model is increasingly appreciated. The car is in demand commercially for magazine shoots and film work so offers the ability to generate income also.

The recent service included replacement of the front brake discs and pads, the fuel filter, air filter, distributor cap, alternator, auxiliary & power steering belts.

The actual mileage is likely around 140k - it appears to have been adjusted at some point which is not unusual for these older cars. It was not repaired after an accident circa, it looks like, 25 years or so ago but has passed numerous MOT tests subsequently so meaning it was regarded roadworthy even post accident, has, as stated, been completely rebuilt and this would have been at a time when the car's value was nothing and therefore would not have justified anything but minor repair costs for an insurance company. This was also why many weren't restored previously. These cars though have increased in value significantly over the last twenty years and their value is predicted to rise exponentially over the next five to ten years as they become even more rare.

All the heavy work and expenditure has been done on this car. The bodywork is immaculate. As are the seats. I don't have full service history but I have owned it for the last 16 years and can provide all the information for that period. It has been garaged for the majority of these years whilst the work was done.

This is perfect car for someone who loves the look and beauty of a classic car but does not want to be doing huge amounts of restoration work and wants a car that is beautiful, very cool, that runs well and that will continue to increase in value.

Please do feel free to make contact if you would like to know more or have any questions. I will continue to add photos.

Many thanks.
