Description

Excellent usable classic in great condition with minimal rust and good paint. A very reluctant sale due to personal circumstances. This car will be very much missed! Lots of history and paperwork dating back to 1995! including traceable ownership, MOT certificates and receipts for works done.

Prior to a trip from Suffolk to the Goodwood revival last year I have the car serviced consisting of new spark plugs, oil and filters and check/ adjust valve clearances. I also had the head checked for any gasket leaks. No issues found.

Overall and exceptional example with reliable mechanicals in what is my opinion, the best colour (atlantisblau) which is particularly set off by the grey leather interior and basket weave alloy wheels. Definitely a very usable and classy classic which can be used and enjoyed straight away for shows, trips to the pub or long road trips across Europe!Subject to an older restoration when the car had a replacement engine head fitted from another engine, rebuild and a grey leather interior.

Body work in pristine condition, no dents, damage or rust. Chrome work is in good condition as is the plastic trim.

Mechanically the car is in excellent condition. The car was subject to a long term project restoration over a number of years by the previous owner (a retired engineer) during which the car was gone through from front to back including engine and exhaust works, clutch replacement, and cosmetic improvements.

Chassis I believe the suspension has been upgraded as it is running Bilstein b4s and what look like mtec springs (although I can’t be sure) the car certainly handles very well for a cabriolet.

Brakes seem to have been upgraded as it is running braised hoses and drilled and grooved discs. Unsure of pads but the car stops very well and pedal feel is great.

Interior is in great condition, the grey leather seats are un damaged and the plastic trim, door panels etc are in excellent condition. Most importantly and rare to find, the dashboard is completely original and undamaged or cracked in any way.

The manual Hood is original and has not been restored, it does have some ware but is fully operational.
The cover deck lid for the hood has had a brand new seal fitted during my ownership, (From BMW)

Despite the thorough restoration carried out by the previous owner I also have spent lots of time and money to ensure that the car is reliable for longer trips and inspires confidence that you will get to your destination!

During my ownership I have spent around £2. 5k having the following works completed:

• Gauge pod cluster send to E30 clusters in Poland for complete restoration to factory specifications
• Timing belt
• Water pump
• Ned radiator
• Fan clutch
• PAS belt
• Fan belt
• Coolant flushed and exchanged
• Throttle cable
• New distributor and rotor arm
• New reverse light switch
• New rubber flex hoses from hard fuel lines to injector rail and return line
• New fuel filter
• New back box hanger and exhaust mid rubber donut
• Petrol car gasket
• New DME relay
• New fuel pump relay
