2005 Audi S4

Offered reluctantly for sale is my 2005 Audi S4 Avant. 4. 2 V8. Just 49, 300 miles, extensive history and great colour combination of silver with red leather. The car is a Japanese import, and as such is 100% corrosion free. I have a folder full of paperwork / receipts / evidence of maintenance work carried out both in Japan and the UK.

I've taken some time to collate this advert to demonstrate the car's condition and hopefully preempt any questions potential buyers may have. But please do feel free to message me if there is anything additional that you'd like to know?

Serviced by previous owner in 2023:·  evidence requested from previous owner but not received (although oil looked clean during Jan 24 servicing that I carried out). I still have contact details for the previous owner so can probably chase this up if it's an issue for you.

New owner (me) servicing work at purchase time and following month (Dec 23 - Feb 24):

New sunvisor clip (passenger side)· 

Driver and passenger side camshaft cover gasket replaced due to minor oil leak. No fluid leaks at all now.· 

4 x new Pirelli P Zero tyres· 

Wheels refurbed to include stainless valves and S4 dustcaps and ceramic coating· 

Magnetic sump plug fitted for engine oil sump· 

Rear diff oil changed to Motulgear 300 75w-90· 

Magnetic sump plug fitted to rear diff· 

Rear shock bump stops replaced· 

S4 ??? reg transferred + 3D gelplates· 

New vac valve for brake booster (original Audi part)·

Repair leaking headlamps and changed tired headlamp lenses for new (which much to my annoyance are still misting up. This is the only problem with the car).· 

Suspension geometry / 4 wheel alignment carried out (which was miles out and the reason for the uneven tyre wear flagged in the previous owner's MOT).· 

New bonnet gas strut fitted.

All other transmission fluids and filters replaced (genuine ZF parts). Bosch Oil Filter and Castrol Edge 5W30Oil change and coolant flush carried out 7th November 2024.

All of the receipts for many thousands of pounds are in the folder.

MOT Carried out 6th November 2024 @ 49, 253 miles. Car now shows 49, 750 miles.

Vehicle condition - exterior:
All of the panels and paint are original (apart from the UK tailgate mentioned above that I fitted for aesthetic reasons as I didn't like the Jap spec number plate size).

There isn't a single dent on the car. There may be 1 or 2 minor stone chips if you get the microscope out. There are a couple of very minor scratches on the back bumper, but the rest of the car is flawless.

There is absolutely no rust on the car. I have had all of the wheel arch liners out, pressured washed everything so it was spotless, and have then treated with Bilt Hamber clear underseal. The same for the underside of the car. So I do not expect this car to deteriorate as far as any corrosion risks are concerned. All glass is original too.

S4 number plate can stay with the car.

The car is now in UK spec and coded as such with VCDS. Clocks are in MPH and radio frequency and satnav are all good. Vehicle condition - interior:

Absolutely everything works. Anything that didn't I have fixed.

The spec of the car is quite high, to include cruise control and elec memory seats / solar sunroof / BOSE Audio / Auto Lights / Ski Hatch / Dog Guard / Parking Sensors Front and Rear / 2 keys.

The seats are still like new. Back seats have barely been sat in.

Some of the painted plastic surfaces / switches had gone sticky / cracked in places. So I've removed those from the car and replaced with new parts where possible, and repainted the parts when new ones were not available. I challenge anyone to tell me which parts are new and which I have painted. They all match really well.

Genuine carpet overmats. Rear tailgate kick plate still has the factory peel off protection on it. Headliner and pillar trims were replaced by Seymour Pope. I have fitted a UK spec RNS-E head unit in the car. This came from a 2012 Seat Exeo. This means it looks the same as the OEM head unit, but has better features than an Audi one from 2005. The screen is of a higher resolution and it's got bluetooth available for both calls and streaming music from your phone. So that's a nice modern feature that other S4's of this era will not have.

The steering wheel I got from Germany that is new old stock, and as such in mint condition. This has the multi function buttons on (where as the old one did not) and is all coded correctly to the car and works without issue. All carpets / trim / seats are in fantastic condition.

Out on the road:
The car goes and stops as it should. Power delivery is smooth and consistent, brakes are strong and pull the car up in a straight line. The transmission changes gear fine automatically, and via the gear lever and flapppy paddles. No nasty noises / clungs / bangs / squeaks and rattles etc. It drive's spot on.

Summary:

I could go on, but boring myself now. I believe this car to be up there with the best available. I am incredibly picky with most things in life, especially cars. I've traveled miles in the past to look at cars described as mint, only to find out they're crap!

I don't believe the pickiest of people will be disappointed with my S4. It's lovely!

Hopefully it's clear that my intention was to keep this car. However I was offered another car that I simply couldn't refuse. So that's now sitting in my single garage, that has pushed the Audi out on to the drive. I'd prefer it was kept inside as despite extensive searching I just cannot find a local place to store the car at a reasonable price. So it's up for sale for the right buyer / price.
