Description
Built by the Quantum factory on a Mk2 Ford Fiesta 1. 4S base with 5 speed gearbox and 75 bhp, the 2+2 is a practical open top sports tourer with a large boot and spacious interior, while remaining light and sporty. As it is built as a fibreglass monocoque with a steel engine frame carrying the engine, front suspension and associated mechanical parts, there is no rust ever to contend with, unlike the car the mechanicals came from.
The car comes with a current MoT (25th September 2025), a substantial history file and (in my ownership), a detailed record of spend and works, including but not limited to;
Matching Kumho Solus 4S all season 165/ 60R14 tyres (2 newly fitted in March 2025) on BK alloy wheels
New inner CV joint kit and outer boot (February 2025)
Oil service (February 2025)
Coolant replacement (February 2025)
Full wiring loom replacement, including ancillary circuits for electric windows, stereo and speaker looms - all genuine Ford parts
Updated earthing points and wiring
Replacement dashboard and gauge binnacle
Upgraded centre console to Mk3 Fiesta XR2 spec
Other previous upgrades were braided brake hoses, stainless steel exhaust with matching sports manifold, electric windows, central locking and internal roll cage (factory option)
This is a well running driving project and minus points of note are that the paint lacquer has peeled on the A-posts and the wheels need redone due to the condition of the paint, but it is a great starting point for your first specialist car that can be used on a daily basis if you chose to do so, with an excellent owners group/ community that will guide and support - Quantum Sports Cars still hold all parts for this model.
There are a number of spares with the 2+2, including a cambelt kit, water pump and full gasket kit, plus as you see in the photos, the door tops are missing the trim. The trim is in the car and is identical to the seat centre fabric and was removed by a previous owner, but it was always my intention to reinstate it and will try do so if I can get the time.
I have owned many specialist sports cars over the years and the Quantum has been the best built and easiest to live with, as Ford mechanical parts are easy to maintain, get replacements for and the car handles better and is faster than the Fiesta it is based on due to being lighter and stiffer.
All in all, it is a better option than the base car, without the shortcomings, rust or costs now associated with retro Ford models.
If you have any questions, I would be happy to have a chat to discuss any that you may have. A very usable little 2+2 that will not rust, has easy access to Ford spares, is an ideal first classic/ specialist car and has a fantastic owners network for advice, support and socials.
