Original owner for the last 50 Year…this 1975 Porsche 911S Targa was delivered to South Centre Fine Cars Ltd., Porsche Dealer in Calgary, AB. It was then sold to the original owner on July 17th, 1975 for $18, 800 plus a couple of add-on options; Blaupunkt am/ fm/ cassette radio and a protective undercoating sprayed on the underbelly of the car. The car is powered by a 2. 7-liter flat-six mated to a five-speed manual transaxle, its finished in Silver Metallic with the original Black Leatherette Basketweave upholstery. The car features refurbish and polished 15″ Fuchs alloy wheels, H4 headlights, a black removable roof panel, a brushed stainless steel roll bar, roll up windows, original cassette stereo, Momo Alpina Leather Steering Wheel and a heated rear window. This mid-year 911 is offered by the seller on behalf of the owners estate, with the original Bill of Sale, 50 Yrs of complete service maintenance records, owners manuals and an active Alberta Registration. The last service completed on the car was in Sept 2024 @ 127, 827 miles with a fresh oil change prior to storage for the winter in Calgary
In the Spring of 1985 the original 6 j x 15” ATS cookie-cutter cast rims were upgraded to a polished 7 j x 15″ silver and black forged alloy FUCH Rim (# 911. 613. 521. 00) along with new 215/ 60R15 A/ S Falken Tires (date code 04/ 15) with 3000 miles driven. Along with a space-saver spare, original complete tool kit and jack, all items in the proper location in the front trunk. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel ventilated disc brakes.
The original Black Leatherette in a basket weave pattern covering the front bucket seats, Leatherette covers the folding rear seats, and door panels. The dash cover we believe is original and is crack free. Appointments include, an analog clock, a Blaupunkt AM/ FM/ cassette stereo, and a heated rear window. The OEM original floor matts are in excellent condition with an extra set of mats over top. Note there are 2 small tears in the driver’s seat back, will provide a pic in the gallery
The leather wrapped Mono Alpina Steering wheel was added in the Fall of 1975, the original stock 3 Spoke Steering Wheel is not available, a full setup of the VDO instrumentation that consists of a 150-mph speedometer, a centrally mounted tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, oil level, oil temperature, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows 27880 miles which has rolled over once.
Feb 1983 - the 911S Targa started a 6 month complete exterior body restoration with removal all of all Glass, Trim, bumpers, hoods, doors... body was respray original colour “Silver Metallic” Glasurit 2 stage paint. All bodywork was completed by Reineking Paint & Auto Ltd. in Calgary, AB. The paint is in top condition with excellent shine and depth from clear coat and base color with paint thickness measurements available
The 2. 7-liter flat-six is equipped with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and was rated at 165 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque when new.
Jan 2010 - the original engine and transmission was removed, completely disassembled and rebuilt by a Ole @ Eurostar Auto at 120, 051 Miles... only 7829 miles have been added since the engine was rebuilt. The following work that was done, we have all receipts and pics from the work description below...
* Following new parts added for the engine rebuild…complete engine gasket set, all main-rod-cam bearings, 2. 7L Mahle piston & cylinder set, cylinder bolt/ nuts, injectors, valve guides, timing chains, all internal gear sprockets, oil-feed tensioners, oil hoses and fuel and air lines
* Engine Case was machined, cleaned and new case saver thread inserts installed
* Cylinder heads were machined with new guides, valves were checked for proper seating
* Powder-coating components, new oil tubes, new gauge senders, fuel tank was cleaned with new fuel filter, fuel pump was previously replaced
* New engine and transmission mounts, shifter coupling, clutch & supporting components, spark plugs, new ignition wire set, and all fluids flushed
* New Stainless Steel heat exchangers and a new Dansk Stainless Sport Exhaust was added
along with a Pop Valve for the Airbox
* Starter and Alternator were checked and cleaned with new fan belt installed
* Oil sweat from main fan pulley…spoke to the original mechanic who rebuilt engine…normal on these earlier engines and not being driven enough
* The stamped Service manual has the dealer stamps showing maintenance intervals, body and engine numbers are matching with Two keys and service records, and car cover are included in the sale.
This 911S Targa is well known within the Porsche Community here in Calgary, the owner participated in many European Car Shows throughout Western Canada and USA, he was very meticulous and attention to detail Porsche enthusiast; this car was his pride and joy for over 50 Years !!
