1971 Volkswagen Type 2 T2 { Swap pre 67 Beetle )

Nice old T2 Dormobile with genuine patina........
It had been living in West Coast AUSTRALIA until being shipped to the UK in 2003 and getting UK registration, before starting adventures around the British isles for a few yrs..
The Then owner then became ill and the van found itself being used less and less but was at least Stored under cover".........
The owner died and the family had some recommisioning work done at a classic garage .... Shortly after the van became mine., I was told the vans was named "Jake".......
Its MOT & TAX exempt of course...
Jake comes with lots of mot certs, lots of Uk & Aussie Reciepts & history..
The Van wears its Original Aussie reg plates ( FOR SHOW ONLY ) as it had been REGISTERED & USED IN THE UK SINCE 2003..
The chassis / vin numbers are the same on the Aussie & uk papers and I have the complete UK V5 in my name Plus some interesting old Aussie Rego papers and a folder of shipping paperwork all forming part of the Vans history..

I was impressed with the condion of the sill area, cab steps / front arches, gutters and windsceen suround. plus more..
Theres plugs to show anti rust injection at some time yrs ago.
Theres Paperwork showing work here and there but relating to the odd bump or scrape as the van has been living life and thankfully NOT being restored..
Theres NO cover ups, NO thick Black underseal, NO recent paint but loads of Patina,......
All the doors open and close ok..

Jake runs and drives, starting easily, with a bit of a flat spot until out on the open road.. The gears change ok but take some getting used to.. Ive replaced the rear cupling which has made things better..

Theres a receipt for a New Engine, Possibly recon as it dosnt say plus carb ect during 2003......
Last year there was a full service, new leisure battery , fuel pipes, electric fuel pump, brakes done at a classic car specialist ..

The Dormobile camper coversion seems to be a UK conversion as the badge on the dash is one of the last of the old style which ended during 70/ 71.
Dormobile introduced a new style badge then on.... Also "Dormobile Australia" started the production of its own Dormobile conversions during 71.
Jake has a 231 code making him a Kombi at birth.......
The interior is complete as i can see.. Ive removed the cupboard from behind the passenger seat to give more space and also the cooker.
I have both stored, for refitting if required.
The front seats and front headlinnig are as in the pics, the headilling is damaged in the sun visor area. Theres profesionally covered rear interior. I have the 2 Buddy seats in original condition

The Dormobile roof is in great condition having being referbished in 2012 By Dormobile at a cost of £3155 with new fabric and windows from the Dormobile range..
Bearing in mind that Jake was stored mainly unused for most of the time after the roof refurbishment other than the odd trip out for mot...
Theres an awning which looks in very good condition, but ive not used it.

I had my head turned by this Australian Kombi about a year ago..............
I liked Jake straight away..... I have Australian connections and have a passion for most things Aussie .. , I know ill miss Jake when hes gone..

Im reluctantly looking to sell... But I dont need a Camper..

I would do a SWAP cash eitherway for a pre 1967 Beetle...

Im 10 mins from J26 or J27 M1........ 10 mins from Nottingham Guiltbrook Ikea...
